A cozy, café-style cappuccino with perfect foam—easy to make at home with basic tools.
Ingredients (serves 1)
For the Base
-
1–2 shots espresso (about 2 oz; use strong coffee if no machine)
-
4–6 oz milk (whole milk for richest foam; oat or almond works too)
Optional Garnish
-
Cocoa powder or cinnamon dusting
Instructions
-
Brew the espresso (or strong coffee) into a cup.
-
Heat the milk: Microwave 4–6 oz milk in a mug for 45–60 seconds (until hot but not boiling), or use a stovetop saucepan.
-
Froth the milk: Use a handheld frother (30–45 seconds) for thick micro-foam. No frother? Pour hot milk into a jar, seal, and shake vigorously 30–60 seconds, then microwave 30 seconds more (without lid) to stabilize foam.
-
Assemble: Pour the frothed milk over the espresso, holding back foam with a spoon at first for the liquid, then spoon the foam on top (aim for 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk, 1/3 foam).
-
Dust with cocoa or cinnamon.
Tip: For stronger foam, use cold milk to start and don’t overheat—ideal temperature is 140–150°F (60–65°C). Practice the pour for that classic layered look!
Enjoy your cozy home cappuccino—perfect with any Exploration blend!
