Hey—it’s Willie from Exploration Coffee Company.
One of the things I’m loving most about this adventure is discovering new tastes right alongside you. I’m not pretending to have all the answers; I’m exploring these coffees as I go—roasting small batches, tasting, adjusting, and getting excited with every new discovery. And honestly? That’s the fun part.
So why small-batch roasting? Because it lets me (and you) experience coffee at its best.
Large-scale roasting is built for consistency and volume—beans get blended in huge lots, roasted fast, and shipped out. It works, but a lot of nuance gets lost. Small-batch means I can roast just a few pounds at a time with my Bellwether roaster, giving each coffee the attention it deserves. The result? Fresher beans, brighter flavors, and the ability to highlight what makes each origin or blend special.
It also lets me be picky about who I buy from. I work with Bellwether for green coffee, and they don’t just chase great taste—they verify every coffee’s environmental, economic, and social impact with their Green Coffee Scorecard. Their standards go beyond industry norms for farmer equity and ethical sourcing, creating one of the most transparent supply chains out there. That means the coffees in your cup—like the women-produced lots from Mexico and Colombia—support real people and real change.
For me, small-batch isn’t just a buzzword. It’s how I get to share coffees with stories worth telling, roasted fresh so you taste the difference. And it’s how I keep exploring—trying new origins, tweaking roasts, and chasing flavors I haven’t found yet.
I’m genuinely enjoying this journey, and I’d love for you to come along.
What flavors or origins are you curious about? Got a dream blend in mind—maybe something bold and chocolatey, or bright and fruity? Or are you interested in a custom roast for your home or office? Drop it in the comments or shoot me a message—I’m always looking for the next adventure, and your ideas might just shape a future batch.
Thanks for being part of this. More discoveries ahead.
