Light Roast
I selected a light roast for Andean Summit because it beautifully highlights the bean’s natural brightness, layered fruit notes, and delicate sweetness. At this level, expect a vibrant cup with prominent Pink Lady apple and cane sugar, evolving into juicier layers of brown sugar, nougat, and subtle dark chocolate as the coffee develops.
This lighter profile keeps the coffee lively and complex without the heavier roast notes that can mask its unique high-altitude character. It’s approachable for everyday drinking yet sophisticated enough for those who love exploring every sip.
Origin: Cajamarca, Peru
Grown on organic, community-focused farms in the high Andes, these beans benefit from rich volcanic soils and cool mountain climates that slow cherry development for exceptional density and flavor complexity. The farmers emphasize sustainable practices that protect the environment and support local families.
By featuring this single-origin, we all directly support regenerative agriculture in one of Peru’s most important coffee regions. Every bag helps preserve biodiversity and traditional farming knowledge while delivering a truly traceable cup from peak to pot.
Brewing Recommendations
Andean Summit shines brightest with methods that highlight its clarity and sweetness.
- Pour Over / Drip: Medium-fine grind, 1:16–1:17 ratio, 195–205°F water. Expect bright apple and clean sweetness.
- French Press: Coarser grind, 4-minute steep. Brings forward the nougat and chocolate undertones.
- Espresso: Fine grind for a balanced shot with caramelized sugar and subtle fruit.
- Cold Brew: Coarse grind, 12–18 hours. Produces an exceptionally smooth, sweet concentrate perfect for summer refreshment.
Tip: Store in a cool, airtight container away from direct sunlight.
As someone who’s always chasing the next great discovery, this coffee feels like reaching a mountain summit—rewarding, clear, and full of quiet power. The light roast lets the Pink Lady apple and nougat notes sing while the bittersweet chocolate provides a grounding finish that makes every cup satisfying.
It’s versatile enough for your morning routine yet special enough for slow weekend pours. I’m proud to bring this one home to the Exploration lineup because it perfectly embodies our mission: bold adventure in every sip, with respect for the land and people behind it.
